About this site

This site started with a simple idea: knowing, before you head out, whether today's sunset will have any color. Instead of only telling you when the sun sets, we estimate how beautiful the sky will be, so you can decide whether it is worth finding a good spot.

How we do it

For each city we take the evening weather, the clouds, humidity, visibility and wind, and turn them into a score from 0 to 100. The data is updated every hour. You can read the details in our guide on how to read the sunset forecast.

We work with public weather data. We are not part of any official service, and we always make clear that this is a forecast, not a certainty. The sources are listed under data sources.

Who is behind it

Atardecer de Hoy is an independent project. It is not a media outlet and has no newsroom: guides and articles are signed with the site's name, and every calculation and source is explained so you can check it. The goal is simple: follow the weather and explain it in plain language, so anyone can understand what makes a sunset special.

If you find a mistake in a figure or in a text, write to us from the contact page and we will fix it.

Share your sky

If you take a good photo of the sunset or the sunrise, you can upload it to the gallery. Every photo is reviewed before it is published.
